How’s Your Puppy With Gun Fire?

How’s Your Puppy With Gun Fire?

11 May 2013

I had a contractor over today to expand steps leading from my bedroom to the outside patio. Cozmo was in his kennel which is next to where the work was taking place. About half way through the project the contractor asked, “How’s your puppy with gun fire?” I confidently replied that he had no issues. Next, the contractor proceeded to secure wood to the already existing concrete step using some sort of nail gun device that produced a noise replicating loud gun fire. The contractor used this device a total of four times. Cozmo slept through this event. How is your puppy or dog with [...]

He is a crate digger. What exactly is a crate digger? He willingly enters into his plastic crate and all is well until he realizes that he is going to be left in his crate, alone. Next he throws a tantrum complete with big dog barking and frantic digging in the front corners of his crate.

What A Difference A Year Makes

What A Difference A Year Makes

13 March 2013

One year ago Cozmo turned twelve weeks old and had been in my care for one month. Teeth were razor sharp, bladder capacity was small, play drive and energy were high, diet was being worked out, household routines were disrupted or put on hold, and Mr. Pup Pup was not left unattended ANYWHERE unless crated. Fast forward one year later…adult chompers are in, ears are up, no more potty trips in the middle of the night, housebroken, crate trained, basic obedience and manners, food situation resolved, play drive and energy still high but focused, old household routines are back along with some [...]

08/08/12 = 8 Months

24 August 2012

August 8, 2012 Cozmo is eight months old.  The kid is growing up and getting big.  He may look like a “Big Dog” but he is still full of bundled energy and puppy antics.  His bark has become low, deep and intimidating.  He has instinctively become very protective and possessive of his house, yard and pack members. My boy is happy, healthy and already at eight months my loyal companion and faithful friend. We are just getting started! Be Sociable, Share! [...]

Ears Are Up!

Ears Are Up!

07 August 2012

At six months of age Cozmo has both of his big ears up under his own power. A little assistance was needed along the way but pup pup’s floppy ears are a thing of the past. Teething has also (thankfully) come to an end. Puppy teeth are gone and Cozmo’s adult choppers are big and sparkly white. My little guy is starting to look more like big boy and is definitely starting to sound like one. Manners continue to be an ongoing process as is basic obedience. Overall, things are going well. I am [...]
